Corporate Secretary - Whitby Hydro

Whitby Hydro - Corporate Secretary to the CEO


Reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the co-ordination of business activities of the President and Chief Executive Officer, Treasurer and the Board of Directors.


Education/Experience

  • College/University Degree – Business Administration/Legal
  • and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Board Governance.
  • Executive level confidential experience.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of current business software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license.

Position Functions

  • Assistance to the President and Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer in the overall performance and efficiencies of the Executive office.
  • Update and maintain Board of Directors and management policies.
  • Answer inquiries from staff that relate to the Administration Department (e.g. policies, programs)

Corporate Secretary Responsibilities

  • Act as Corporate Secretary for the Board of Directors and President and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Co-ordinate meetings for the Board of Directors and President and Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer preparing the necessary documentation for those meetings (agendas, minutes).
  • Organize all business functions for the Board of Directors and President and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Maintain all files – General, Board of Directors Resolution files, Corporate Minute Books, By-Laws, Documents.
